Dancing Machine

His life was set. Dave Scott emerged from the streets of Compton to earn a college scholarship to play basketball. He was a good student, decent athlete and was on a reasonably fast track to a normal life. But one night that all changed. “It was at a club,” recalls the former Division 1 small forward at Weber State in Utah. “I was actually out there in Utah, and I was just getting’ down.”

Scott has taken a break from his normal routine when a local dance troupe noticed his 6’4” frame doing his best Rerun impression. “They looked at me and thought that my style, and being tall, was different,” remembers Scott, who would go on to use his style to teach moves to the likes of B2K.
