Mystery Alaska Amerie It’s hard to imagine someone
as hot as Amerie growing up in a place as cold as Alaska.
But it’s true: This child of a military family lived
many places growing up, including America’s biggest
state, which is where she went to high school. It’s
also where the 23-year-old got her first of many breaks…at
an MC Lyte concert. “They were getting people from
the audience to perform onstage and I began singing SWV’s
‘Weak’ and the crowd sang along with me.”
