What would it be like if rappers had their own video games? 50 Cent has the answers.
Save for the Wu-Tang Clan, no other hip hop artist has been able to headline their own video game besides Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The star of 2005’s Bulletproof and its just-released sequel, Blood on the Sand, 50 managed to transform himself from a Queens street hustler to an urban Indiana Jones–and sold two million units in the process. So what would happen if other MC’s decide to get in on the game? What would their titles be like? We asked Curtis this question and here’s what he had to say.
“[Rick Ross] would be the lead police officer and he’d chase the bad guy. Or it would be like Escape from Alcatraz and he’d be the C.O. making sure you can’t escape. People are trying to get out and he’s making sure they stay in.”
“Lil Kim’s video game would be rated mature. It would be graphic. It would be sexual. I think that’s safe to say.”
“Now that would be a big hit, man. After we do the movie we might decide to do something like that. They’re actually writing a script for Pimpin’ Curly now.”
“Someone said to me earlier that Kanye had a video game idea. He wanted a dick to chase a pussy around. But I think Kanye’s game would be a fashion video game. You’d probably be picking out shoes and pants. That’s what stands out about his character, he’s really fashion conscious. ”–As told to Ryan Murphy
Blood on the Sand is in stores now.
