MC-turned-minister-turned-MC Mason Betha has flip-flopped more than John Kerry at a gymnastics convention. In this exclusive, members of Mase’s SANE ministries congregation take their stance.
Pastor Mason Betha is bustin’ shots on record again, but he says it’s for a greater good. Will his cultish congregation clap back?
Inside a bustling Atlanta church, faith is being tested. “For you to be a member of this church, you are subject to ridicule because of what God has called your pastor to do,” asserts a fresh-faced speaker. It’s a cool October afternoon and Michael Carter has come to rally the troops at SANE Ministries, a multicultural, nondenominational house of worship with an estimated 2,000 members. An infectious chorus of “Amens!” and “Hallelujahs!” fill the church, which is modern with its sleek, flat-roofed design. Rows of young faces—pubescent boys and girls, college kids and 30-somethings dressed in a mix of suits, jeans and sweats—hang on his every word. Above the plum-colored carpet and chairs, a large crest is stamped on a beige wall, proclaiming SANE’s underlining mission: Saving A Nation Endangered.
At the center of the exhortation is the founder and head pastor of SANE, Mason “Mase” Betha, who some say has lost his way on the road to salvation. The congregation, including Mase’s associate pastor and wife Twyla (a petite, kewpie-doll beauty dressed in all white), is getting a much-needed word of encouragement. And it couldn’t have come at a more pressing time. Word is, that their dimpled, charismatic leader is contradicting the sacred word of God; that he’s dragging his church into the kind of dubious infamy reserved for fraudulent faith healers and science-fiction-based religious cults. To be more specific, “Murder Mase,” the slick-rhyming, diamond-flaunting, skirt-chasing, shiny suit-wearing Harlem rapper, who more than five years ago gave up a multimillion-dollar recording deal with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ label Bad Boy for the Lord, has aligned himself with hip-hop’s beef-igniting self-proclaimed devil’s son, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Let us pray.

As far as Mase goes Im a little concerned. This is a guy who had it all then left it to be with the Lord. There is nothing wrong with that. Mase was on the right track when he first returned to music. He wasnt talking about the same things he was before he left music. Then he goes and signs to G-Unit and starts rapping about killin and those things. As a fan of hip hop music that is not cool. The reason why is because you are sending mixed messages to young kids. You left the game to find the lord and you did all this work to change your life, but then comes back and become who you were before. So all the time and money and reading or whatever he was doin was for nothing. He seems like a confused human being to me. Mase is a black man lost. He needs to sit down and take a look in the mirror and find out who he wants to be. He is a man of God or a man of violence. With hip hop the way it is today and Mase talkin reckless you never what could happen.

I think Mason has fallin’ into the trap of the enemy. The word of God states that we should come out from amongst our kindred, meaning that if we have become “born again believers” in this walk with Christ, and we believe firmly upon His word, love Him (by obeying His commandments) then he(Mason)wouldn’t be doing what he is doing. He is not changing G-Unit by turning them towards Christ. God needed, and still needs Mason to do a work for Him using his talents that God has given. There is a Holy Hip-Hop Genre that ministers the gospel through Hip-Hop. Mr.Del formerly of three-6-Mafia made a change and stood on the Word of God and has not turned back but, instead has pressed forward by leaps and bounds. With that in mind I would like to say to Mase that God still loves you, His grace and mercy is abound and I pray a change, because no one is perfect but, we all press towards the mark. God Bless

I am praying for Mase. I purchased his book and gave it to my daughters who are struggling teenagers who what to serve the Lord. They were not interested in reading his book (I did not know of his resent activites.) mainly because the felt he was not true. Since one like 50 cents a little, she was heart ached because she felt he was cursing and saying hateful things. It was a let down. If Mase ever read this. I pray that the Holy Spirit arrest you, that God will give you spiritual eyes and see YOU…Let God continue to heal your heart…James 3:1-18

Mase… is a a sucka. he’s been hidin’ behind the Bible for year proclaimin to have “left the game”. The truth is Dipset ranned his punk ass up out new York. Now Mase is hiding behind 50 Cent (Five-O… lol). Mase needs to repent… if Dipset don’t get him Jesse Jackson will.

This guy is WILD!!! I mean ya we all fall short and I know it’s stuff we are all dealing and get trapped into. BUT COME ON!!! I think if you are in that position…A PASTOR?! That’s not right, he is a Pastor. The leader of a church that exist only because of what they have seen God do in the life of “Betha” (as Dipset calls him). So to go against that can and most likely will kill the faith of the 2,000 plus members. How can they belive that God is able if “Betha” the pastor who 5yrs ago gave up a mill for the Lord is now fallin back into the same trap? How can they look at this FOOL during their services? I mean without thinking to themselves “What the hell is he doing here?” I mean personally I saw his 1st comeback as cool. The welcome back? Ya I bumped that…It was all positive and he was all into God…Cool! But now the Murder Mase is back…Get Real “Betha” YOUR A PASTOR NOT A GANGSTA!!!!! And after I saw his latest mixtape…10yrs of Hate where this “idiot” pulled a Kanye and dressed up as Jesus…All I can say is Hell is Hot!

God has a plan and purpose for everything and everyones life. while trying to fufill our purpose we all fall short, man, women, boy, girl. As long as mase found his was back to god thats all that matters. the bible tells us that god has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into his kindom, so he is safe forever if he stayes in his kindom because in the end Mase will not stand before the world or his church but before the almighty god. so lets not judge lets pray.
