REVIEW: “The Boss” - Rick Ross feat. T-Pain
Cruisin’ down Collins, it’s about that time…
Rick Ross is certainly not one to jump out of his lane. With, “Boss” his J.R. Rotem-produced second single from Trilla, he’s bent on keeping cocaine, Chevys, and heat in Miami. Playing D. Wade to Ricky’s Shaq is wonder boy T-Pain (and that vocoder), sprinkling his voice magic over the ghostly, druggy beat (“I gotta fresh line-up / A fresh outfit / About to have the parking lot on smash”). Club arrival music at its finest. You know, right before you step inside the spot and realize the drinks (and the women) are too expensive. –Brad Wete
