REVIEW: “Ego Trippin’” - Mýa
Proof that your lady is wrong, sometimes.
Don’t fall for the okie-doke, homie. Your girl ain’t always right. With this melodic Internet floater from Mýa, for once, the fairer sex dumps its self-righteous ‘tude and offers a contrite “my bad,” in song. Sparse flutes and delicate strings decorate Mýa’s butter-smooth vocals, while the stunning songbird fesses up to an inflated pride. “When you come back home / It’s gonna be on / ‘Cause I’m turning off the phone, gonna make it up all night long.” Apology accepted. –John Kennedy
