REVIEW: Sol-Angel & The Hadley St. Dreams - Solange Knowles
The Knowles wild child scores high–literally.
No déjà vu here. On her throwback-themed sophomore record (yes, there was a first), Solange steers clear of Beyoncé-like ballads and rehashed pop. Instead, the rebellious Knowles daughter layers eclectic melodies beneath stripped-down vocals. Equally raw is the subject matter—including one-time flings (“T.O.N.Y.”) and drug indulgences (“ChampagneChroniknightCap”). So much for family values. –John Kennedy

You know I’m from outside the states, as I actually had a copy of her first album. It was cool, but got no air play at all. Pity as it was kind of nice…unlike this garabage. Sorry Solange not feeling even a £2 on this album.
